Light is an essential factor for the functioning of aquatic biota. In the natural environment, it is the sun that provides the light necessary for plant photosynthesis and the regulation of animal life processes. In an aquarium, these important, life-giving functions are fulfilled by the light emitted by lamps. Therefore, both the selection of suitable lighting and the correct planning of the lighting cycle of the tank are of colossal importance for the well-being of the living organisms that inhabit it.  

A spectrum of possibilities

The Ultra Slim BT is an aquarist led lamp with 5 light modes, allowing it to be used in all types of open tanks.

    SUNNY is the basic mode, characterized by emitting the strongest light of the lamp. It is dedicated to lighting a freshwater aquarium during the day.
    DAYBREAK is a mode characterized by reduced light output – up to 50% in relation to what the SUNNY mode offers. It works well as the first mode after dark and when feeding fish – especially shy ones.
    NIGHT is an atmospheric blue glow allowing observation of the aquarium’s nightlife.
    MARINE – a light mode dedicated to marine tanks, which is also perfect for decorative aquaria with fish from Lakes Malawi and Tangnika.
    PLANT – a mode designed for typically planted tanks, which stimulates their growth at every stage: from seedling to bloom. Ideal for demanding Dutchman aquaria with a variety of vegetation.  

Ultra Slim will easily adapt to the dimensions of your aquarium. If you have a non-standard size tank then the UltraSlim should attract your attention all the more. You can choose from 3 size variants of the lamp, with lengths: 30, 60 and 90 cm or create an individual lighting module by hanging the lamps side by side. Ultra Slim also has 2 mounting variants: you can suspend it above the aquarium on steel cables or attach it to the edges of the tank using an adjustable frame equipped with transparent guides.  

Energy saving and safety

Depending on the size, the Ultra Slim BT has 4, 8 and 12 reflectors, each equipped with 38 state-of-the-art LEDs, with a high efficiency of >130lm/W. The LEDs emit much more light than a traditional fluorescent lamp while consuming approximately 50% less electricity.  

An additional factor contributing to energy efficiency, as well as trouble-free and quiet operation of the lamp, is the passive cooling system used. Using its design, the lamp effectively dissipates excess heat and does not need additional cooling sources such as fans.  

Like other Aquael products, Ultra Slim guarantees a high standard of safety in use. The lamp is powered by a safe operating voltage of 24 V, which poses no danger to human life and health. Ultra Slim will also remain safe in the event of brief immersion in water, which is guaranteed by its IPX7 waterproof rating.  

Design for the aquarist

In addition to its high luminous performance, the Ultra Slim BT is sure to attract attention with its modern, minimalist design. Made from a single slab of brushed aluminum, the housing is only 17 mm thick, making the lamp extremely light visually. Mounted above the tank, Ultra Slim looks as if it is levitating above it, which further draws observers’ attention to the aquarium arrangement. The available light modes, in addition to functions related strictly to tank maintenance, also make it possible to create the desired mood in the room.  

Controlling the lamp with the smartphone and tablet app

You have remote control of your aquarium lighting thanks to the Aquael BT application. It allows you to communicate with the UltraSlim lamp via mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet, using Bluetooth technology. The app allows you to remotely adjust lighting parameters – such as intensity, color temperature or lighting time – to suit the individual requirements of your tank. Using it, it is also possible to control several UltraSlim lamps or share access between other people. Aquael BT can be secured with a PIN code.

In tune with the natural rhythm

The Ultra Slim BT lamp is another Aquael product designed to help replicate natural living conditions in the aquarium environment as closely as possible. Thanks to the SUNNY DAY-BREAK and NIGHT modes, it is possible to recreate in the aquarium a close-to-natural diurnal cycle, which is important for the proper functioning and development of living organisms.

The Aquael BT also allows you to create your own lighting schedules to suit the individual requirements of fish and plants. With it, you can also programme cycles that mimic natural light changes throughout the day like dawn and dusk. The lighting gradually brightens to simulate morning and dawn, allowing fish and plants to make a smooth transition from night to day. Similarly, during twilight – the light gradually fades out, mimicking the natural process of the sun setting. Gradual and smooth light changes not only create a more visually natural atmosphere in the aquarium, but also have a beneficial effect on the living organisms. Thanks to them, fish and plants can adapt to the changing light conditions without stress, which has a positive effect on their well-being.
